I have had plans for years to to just that. For numerous reasons:
    1.    easier to get wheel bearings.
    2.    can run disk brakes on all 4.
    3.    can use airbag suspension (no tuck under).
    4.    better handling.

i'm sure there would be other advantages.

I plan on redoing the subframe so if someone wanted to it could be returned 
to stock by replacing it, it would also be easier to modify an additional 
subframe and then installing it.
