Well, that should be good for a Chuck-le -- bought any copper sheet 
lately??  For the price of the copper, you could probably find someone 
that would weld one up in stainless and you could save money and do nothing.

It really isn't a big deal to weld one up in stainless, if you can 
really weld -- no coatings needed  (and I am not a big coating fan -- a 
coating gone bad, and they do that, is worse than what you were trying 
to fix).

Of course a welded up tank won't be factory stock oem 100 point 
original, but it should hold fuel.
