Michael,
We had a similar problem with a Rampside we did a dual master conversion on
(w/ front discs) With the single master, and everything else untouched, it
worked fine. But the minute the dual M/C went in the fronts started locking
up. After working through a process of elimination (residual valves, etc)
we replaced the dual master and the problem was gone.
Regards,
Joel

I thought I would throw this out to the list. I did a complete brake
job on my 61 Rampside. New lines, cylinders, shoes and master cylinder
rebuild. My dilemma is that if I drive a distance of say twenty miles
or more the brake pedal becomes rock hard and the brakes start to lock
up on all four wheels. I am inclined to think that the issue is in the
master cylinder. I backed the concentric pedal bolt so that I have
maximum pedal travel to allow the piston to fully return. I backed the
shoes off to zero adjustment. These are manual adjusters, not auto
adjusters and still have this problem. I have bled the system repeatedly
and to no avail. What am I missing here? I've done numerous brake jobs
in the past with never a problem. I am using DOT 3 brake fluid not
synthetic
  ANY THOUGHTS?
Thanks in advance, Mike Emanuele
