First off, what do you plan on hauling, rock, grain, a camper, a boat,
appliances, pianos, etc? You only need to be concerned about the max
GVW if you plan on hauling heavy goods. The next item is to look at
some tire sidewalls and see what weight they are rated for, and then
multiply by four -- how does that compare to your planned uses. If you
aren't going to haul anything, regular street tires will be fine --
probably the heaviest loads 'most' FC's see these days is Greenbriers
full of people or Rampies with campers.

FC's came stock with 14" light duty bias ply truck tires -- probably
can't find too many of those in today's marketplace. But the lug pattern
is 'standard' 5 hole full sized Chevrolet (pre-metric), so there is a
plethora of 15" wheels that will fit, giving you a much wider selection
of tires, although 15's are loosing favor to even larger sizes these days.

There are some more things for you to think about, but ultimately, you
will have to decide what you want to do and why.

Cheers!
