I had a couple hours over the weekend to devote to my Rampside clutch problem. I employed all the various suggestions from the Corvanatics. I sliced 1/4 inch from the rubber bumper on the arm of the clutch lever under the dash and that allows a longer stroke on the pedal travel. I took up the slack at the cable bracket. Then I took the slack out of the connection of the clutch rod to the back end of the cable, and reinforced the rear bracket, which was flexing a bit too. I even cut off the clutch pedal and welded in an inch more steel to make the travel longer still. After all these changes, the clutch works fine. I loaded up my neighbor who has been helping me and we drove her up the hill, around the cul - de - sac, and back into the driveway. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. Now on to getting the engine tuned properly, and ready to paint.
