[FC] Turn signal cable not moving

I personally do not think everything the factory did, GM, Ford, or
Chrysler, was always the "best way" to do something. Most often it was the
most cost effective way. If I can improve something that makes my Rampside
more fun to own, easier to work on, and yes, in some cases, better (IMO)
than I will.

There's the rub. Replacing a drivetrain "just because it can be done" is
not the same as replacing a few screws (that are never seen behind the
steering wheel) to make servicing your vehicle easier IMO.

Why replace them -- nobody said they were broke? If one is going to
repair older GM's, one must invest in the required tools, so why not use
them?

If one starts replacing factory parts with other stuff, where is
the stopping point? Why not put Honda or Subaru or Porsche drivetrains
in just because it can be done?
