i carefully use a propane or map gas torch on the bearing shaft area inside
and outside the housing while supporting it upside down in a vise to remove
and install the bearing. it will about drop out on its own when warm enough
(sometimes a light touch with a screw driver to break it loose) and quickly
push the new one in to the same depth as the old one was. i have done this for
many years , and only a few times have to push it in the last small amount
with a block of 2X4. you can see the ridge in the housing hole from the old
one , and it will form a stop close enough to use.
clean the housing up good before changing the bearing.
regards, tim colson
