Mike, on my 1963 Rampside I have the currently-available 185-R14
Continental Vanco 2, a light-truck-rated tire. Yes, this is essentially
an 80-series tire, and very close to the correct diameter. 195-R14
would be an nearly perfect match (a local club member has this size on
his Greenbrier) but the 195-R14 is no longer available.

It is rated to carry far more than you will ever put in your truck.

I like the fact that it is a modern, capable tire that "looks right" on
an otherwise stock truck.

If there is a downside, it is that it is a somewhat harsh-riding tire as
compared to most passenger car tires.

It is available from Tire Rack ($70 or so) but I got mine through a
local truck tire specialist for a comparable installed price. I had
gotten big tires for my motorhome at this same dealer, and he treated me
well and he thought that the Rampside was cool. While I appreciate what
Tire Rack does for us enthusiasts, cultivating a relationship with local
businesses is a good thing.

You can see how they look on my Rampside here:

And you can see how the discontinued 195-R14 size looks on a Greenbrier
