RE Idle issues. I have had two idle issues with Corvairs. The first was a lumpy uneven idle caused by vacuum leaks at the throttle shafts and rubber balance tube. The second one was when it would run just fine cold but when it got hot it missed and refused to idle smoothly. The second issue was a dropped seat that only had symptoms after the head warmed up. Rebuilt carbs and new rubber fixed the first issue, rebuilding the head fixed the second. These things were on a '65 110 motor.
