Greetings from Slippery Rock, PA! Just wanted to say Hi!
and give you folks a brief update on my MuseumBrier
project. The MuseumBreir is a 1964 Standard six door
Greenbrier that I recently bought from Tim Colson. When
purchased is was more like a puzzle than an operational
FC. Tim gave me a tranaxle and an engine assembly separate
from the actual van. Yesterday several members of the
Keystone Corvair Club pitched in and helped me get the
powertrain installed at Barry Musselman's Corvair Garage
and Club Hangout in Martinsburg, PA. Last night I towed
the 'Brier back to SR and Monday it goes to the painter.

The question for the group concerns the paint job. Right
now the van is two tone green. Yeah, I know it's called a
Greenbrier for a reason... but I need to repaint it before
we start the ten-city CPF (Corvair Preservation
Foundation) road show in April. Doug Musselman de-coded
the ID plate on the van to tell me that it originally was
light gray with a white stripe. I was thinking of painting
it white with a red stripe and red steel wheels. Does
anyone on the list have a picture of a light gray and
white FC? I would like to thank Kent Sullivan for his
research and his great website with FC info. Makes it a
lot easier to tell the painter just what color of white or
red or gray that I want!

I also would like to find a set of correct dog dish
hubcaps (chrome) for the truck. Are any of them hiding out
there somewhere? More updates to follow as I prepare for a
7,000 mile long road tour with my traveling billboard for
the Corvair Hobby and Corvair FC's in particular. - Pete
