What you may be dreaming of is the Ultra Van, they used a windshield from a 60's cube van. They are VERY expensive, I have found them but no one has paid the price yet.

Somewhere I heard/read/dreamt that the FC windshields were common to the
hevrolet pickups of the time. Is this true and, if so, wouldn't this make it
asier to find said windshield?

I am sure this has been discussed forty-eleven times, but is there a source
or FC windshields?

Is there a particular part number for a tinted/shaded FC windshield?

 Thanks,

Last I heard, only tinted were available and then only through a glass
nstaller. That was over a year ago, so no telling if that still holds true.
rice - installed is likely going to be up there - maybe $700 - $800 range.

I would have to check to see if any are available but I might be able to get
ne.

I would recommend that you only get the tinted windshield and not the tinted
haded one. The reason being is that you set so high in the FC's that the
hading gets in the way of looking at traffic lights. When I had mine I sat so
all in the seat that I even was sort of looking through the very bottom part of
he shading making it sort of hard to drive comfortably.

Subject: [FC] Northeast & Mid-Atlantic Corvair Parts Auction 2010

The New Jersey Association of Corvair Enthusiasts' annual winter indoor
orvair Parts Auction will take place on Saturday, February 13th, at Ashley's
uto Body on Hillside Avenue in Flanders, NJ. New and used Corvair parts will
e sold to the highest bidder, with the club slicing off a percentage of the
roceeds.

As always, free lunch! Pizza and soft drinks for everyone.

Doors open 9 AM for setup, bidding begins 11 AM.

Please share this information with your fellow Corvair enthusiasts. Thanks!

 -----------------------------

 Complete details:

All Corvair enthusiasts are welcome and invited! Any and all Corvair items
ill be sold to the highest bidders. You can set a minimum acceptable bid for
our parts, or no minimum bid at all! Recession-buster: NJACE will collect a
% commission on the sale of parts instead of the usual 10%. You may also
onate items for the full benefit of the club. All you need to bring is parts
nd/or cash, and a folding chair on which to sit.

If you're selling, the best way to go is to organize your parts at home, so
hat you can quickly fill out the Lot Cards that will be used at the auction.
n the Lot Cards you will identify yourself, the parts, and any minimum
cceptable bid you wish to establish.

On the morning of the auction there will be time to set up your parts and tag
hem if you have not yet done so. By organizing in advance at home, setup will
e easier. If you don't want to be bothered tagging your parts and you just
ant to donate them to the club, bring 'em and we'll handle everything for you.
Parts donations have typically been one of our club's largest fund-raisers each
ear.)

What kind of parts sell well? Obviously, clean parts in good condition, parts
hat are less common, and new-old-stock parts. Greasy, broken junk has little
r no value, and the auction will prove this to you if you don't believe it.
eave the bent, rusty, broken stuff at home.

We encourage the selling of parts in "lots." For example, sell an instrument
luster and a glovebox door together, not as separate items. And we discourage
he selling of too many of the same thing. For example, if you have six pairs
f cylinder heads to sell, consider offering only one pair at the auction.

Once setup is complete, the auctioneers will start picking parts and
uctioning them off. Whatever is set for an item's minimum bid is will be the
east bid accepted (and bids will be taken in even dollar amounts as to make
ookkeeping easier).

If you're buying, you will be given a Bidder Number which will be used to
ecord your purchase whenever you're the successful bidder. You'll receive your
urchases on the spot, but you'll need to pay for them (by cash or check, cash
referred) before leaving. For this reason we ask that you be prepared to stay
or the full auction, so that the bookkeepers can record all the sales and tally
he results without interruption.

There will be a lunch break, and club will provide pizza and soda at no
harge. (Who said that there's no such thing as a free lunch?) If you don't
ave any parts to sell come anyway -- there are always great bargains to be had
nd there are always plenty of laughs.

The auction is a great way to see a lot of unusual parts and enjoy the
ompetitive bidding. If you're looking for something in particular chances are
ood that you'll find it there.

The best part about the auction is a chance to get together with a great bunch
f people. The auction is fast paced and a lot of fun. Directions appear
elow. So come out on Saturday, February 13th.

Directions to Ashley's Auto Body: From the east, west, and north: Take I-80
xit 27 onto NJ Route 206 south. Proceed about 3 miles south on Route 206. At
he traffic light with the Old Mill Shoppe on the right, turn left onto Main
treet. In 1/10-mile bear left onto Hillside Avenue. Proceed 8/10-mile to
shley's Auto Body, on the left. From the south: Follow Route 206 about 5
iles north of Route 24 in Chester. At the traffic light just past "The After"
oadside restaurant, turn right onto Main Street. In 1/10-mile bear left onto
illside Avenue. Proceed 8/10-mile to Ashley's Auto Body, on the left.
