I've put 10si alternators on a few of my Corvairs and I'm not sure what you are talking about with the resistor. Of the two wires coming out of the alternator one goes to the idiot light through a diode and the other just jumps over to the hot post on the alternator. Am I missing something or are you talking about externally regulated alternators? Mine have always worked fine. I didn't see anything on that web site relating to alternators.

One thing , you need to put about 2 ft of wire , or a low ohm resistor ,
between the regulator terminals , and the field wire to the wire going to the
alt light on the dash (with out looking, blue wire from the regulator?) .
If the wire is too short , you have to do a quick rev up to start charging
after starting the motor. no biggie.
