I am not certain that it is a factory built vehicle, but I have no reason to doubt his honesty. It very well may have been done by a previous owner more years ago, than anyone could remember. I would check it over carefully for deviations from what would have been practiced by Chevrolet back then. If it truly has a I beam in the floor area, I doubt that Chevrolet would have done a unit like this. Also, check the ramp quarter panel area for signs of modifications. I could be way off base on this, so take my thoughts for what they are... One persons opinion, based on a telephone conversation from long ago. Possibly Dave Newell can shed some light on the subject.

> The inner edges of FC rear tires are going to wear faster. This is aggregated with wider than stock tires. There isn't a spacer on the control arm like there are on 64 cars. Sounds like you need a rear toe in alignment since the powerpak is a hodgepodge. There are shims that go between the front of the transmission and the transmission crossmember that shift the powerpak fore and aft to adjust the toe in. The rear engine mount castle nut and side shroud retainers need to be loosened before changing shims. The service manual explains it. I'd take one to an alignment shop and explain what needs done. You can do it yourself on a nice level shop floor of you're willing to make a coupe of simple measuring tools. Clark's sells a very reasonable priced book that explains how to do it.

>>> I spoke to the owner a number of years ago, and he said that it was the only one bult. I asked what kept it from buckling in the middle, and was told that it had steel beams under the body.
