[FC] Springs for "working" Rampside

Hank,

I think the load capacity of a Rampside is right around 3/4 ton. If
everything is in good working order and you are not expecting to travel at
over about 40 - 45 MPH, I can think of no reason not to use it as is. I
guess that you might want to find out what a cubic yard of dirt actually
weighs.

I've hauled things in mine several times - such as an upright piano to
Wisconsin, a load of mulch filled to even with the top of the bed, a 1500
pound (maybe just over that) "kit" 10X10 shed for the back yard. I put
extra air in the tires for that one and that was about a 15 mile trip.

You are talking down hill it sounds like so be sure the brakes are up to
snuff and a manual tranny might also be a good idea. You did not mention if
PG or manual.

That's my .02

Later, JR
