Here are some directions to the next NoVCC meeting, which is Saturday, at
10:00 AM. Please bring your car, especially if you have a quick project.
11413 Vale Road, Oakton, VA 22124
People coming from the north may find a combination of Dulles Toll Road, Reston Parkway,
Fox Mill Rd, to Vale, to be the best. From the south, the Fairfax Co. Parkway to West
Ox Rd. to Vale works well. There are lots of shortcuts, so if you have a map, please explore.
The simplest (fewest turns) way to get to the house is as follows:
Take I66 to exit 60, then take Rt. 123 North (Chain Bridge Rd.) towards Vienna.
At the 4th light, turn left on Hunter Mill Road, follow for 1.4 miles. Turn left
at first light onto Vale Road. Follow Vale for 1.5 miles (seems longer, the road gets
nice and twisty). There's a sharp hairpin left where some nitwit has planted boulders
in the run-off area, followed by a tree-lined chute and a blind right hand turn. You'll
see a barn on your left, and a 4 way intersection (Fox Den Ln. and Hunt Rd.) Keep turning
right (staying on Vale) Our house is about the fifth one on the left after Hunt, and
before Fox Mill Rd. Look for the orange triangles on the mailbox.
The house is slightly offset from facing the street. It has two tall white pillars,
and a diamond in a large front window. We have a shared driveway, so please don't
block it. You can park on the grass between my fence and the driveway, or in my
driveway. My next-door neighbor (on Vale, so 11419) has offered use of his parking
area and grass if needed.
Here's a map, perhaps:

Sadly, a parts order from Lon is now two months late, and my car is still stranded
in Boston, so it will be a bit more of a laid back planning meeting than I would have
liked. I do have a fairly well stocked garage so if you have a car project that needs
work, please bring it along and pull into the garage.
Hope to see you there,
-Joe Curran
