Hi all,
Hope everyone had a good holiday! I'm in the midst of refurbishing the
heater in the Greenbrier, hit it with a wire brush in the grinder today
and watched the rust holes get bigger and bigger :-( So now I'm
looking for a new blower housing, and I ordered the remaining gaskets I
need to finish the project.
Like many folks, we try to do a little planning near the start of a new
year, and the main Corvair focus this spring is getting the red Corsa
autocross car back on the road. I have pretty much everything for a
new front suspension. Once that's done I'll turn to the rear of the
car, the engine from the blue Corsa will go in, along with replacing
most of the rear suspension bushings. If things go reasonably well,
we'll then be taking the car out to Louisville for the convention.
So that's our plan. We've done lots of things as a club in the past,
is there something we haven't done recently that we should revive? Joe
Curran mentioned going down to the American history museum to see the
Thomas Flyer (I think that's right) that made the first trip across the
US. There's also the new Air and Space annex out at Dulles. Either of
those would be good to invite the rest of the family along as well, not
just our usual techie fare. It would also be cool to attend a few
local car shows as a club.
Well, just a few thoughts to get us started for the next meeting. See
you there!
