[NoVa-Corvairs] Corvair Wheels

Curt-

The guy I talked to at the Corvair Ranch said I'd have to use wheels from
60s or 61s if I want to use my wheel covers (they have some little bumps on
the wheels to hold the covers).

I'm pretty sure I'm going to mount new tires on my current wheels unless I
find a cheap alternative in the next couple weeks or so. I'll save the old
(original) tires just in case they're worth something or at least to help
verify the low mileage on the car if I ever sell it.

Yesterday, I ordered 4 new tires from the Tire Rack and wheel cylinders and
brake hoses from Clark's. I hope to get the tires mounted and the gas tank
in order (or at least evaluated) before the April meeting. Hopefully,
during the meeting we can install the new brake parts and maybe bleed the
system. If all of that falls into place, the car would then be on the road.

I still welcome any leads or suggestions on cheap replacement wheels that
will work with my wheel covers. Thanks.

-Mike

Mike, et. al.,

I would like to get back to the steel wheels that you need. Are they unique
to '61's or will any 4 bolt ,13" Corvair wheel work for you?
