Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, it is in the sheath area when its
pulled out. I just called the Corvair Ranch and they don't have any.
Furthermore, they say they're hard to come by. But the guy did take my name
and number in case he finds one. I also asked him if he knows anything
about the replacement ones Clark's sells (like do they fit in the original
mounting bracket under the dash). He said he didn't know.
I think I'll wait a while and see if I can find a good used one or NOS one
that's less expensive than the $83 one Clark's has. Meanwhile, I can open
the choke back in the engine bay where the cable splits off to the carbs.

You maybe able to repair it. If the broken spot is not in the sheath you
can buy a brass coupler with set screws to connect the two ends. These can
usually be found in the "HELP" brand section of your auto parts store.
Would the Corvair Ranch have a good, used one? They do mail order.
