Just now, Speed Channel recapped the '61 300 G Greg referenced below -- =
it actually sold for $205,200.

The guy who purchased the 300 it was screaming with pure orgasmic j=
oy at having also bought a one-off 1953 Olds Motorama showcar ... for $3 mi=
llion.

Hey, Gang! We probably will not see =
a Corvair at the auction for many years, but it is still on today from 2-11=
(9 hours!), then again tomorrow. Check it out on Speed, it is really=
quite facinating! I watched for about an hour from 9-10.&n=
bsp; It's clearly dominated by muscle cars, Corvettes, and Hemi Cudas. =
; (Exactly how many COPO Camaros did they build?) I'm sure if you wer=
e interested in a particular car, you could probably find one for 20-40% le=
ss privately... People seem to get caught up in auction fever!=

Daniel & I saw a rough 1961 Chrysler 3=
00G convertible for sale a few years ago. It needed a total restorati=
on, but it was compete, had two replacement front fenders. I remember=
it being very rusty, including the trunk and the lip of the trunk near the=
bumper. The guy wanted $6K, which I thought was ridiculous at the ti=
me (he ended up selling it thru a Chrysler publication to someone in Califo=
rnia for $4,500! One just sold last night on B-J, albeit in beautiful=
condition, for $190,000! Yes, $190,000. Who knows, it may have=
been the same car? Kind of makes you wonder that if I had bought the=
car, had White Post do a $100,000 restoration, the profit would have been =
nice!!! As Daniel has told me before, a "Blue Chip Investment!"</FONT=
