Hi All-
I'm very pleased to report that Darrin and I got all the remaining brake work
done on my '61 yesterday and took the car for its first drive (first in about
17 years anyway). We drove it to the nearest gas station for a fill up, then
around the neigborhood a bit (a few miles total).
It seems to run, shift, steer and stop pretty well.
I still need to take care of a few small issues before I can drive it a lot.
I need to change the gear oil, fix the brake light switch, figure out why my
lights and blinkers don't work and fix that, and reattach some trim, etc. Then
I can tag it and have some fun. Hopefully, I'll be driving to one of the
meetings this summer.
Since I just mentioned it, does anyone have any suggestions for diagnosing my
lights and blinkers problem (i.e, they don't work at all)? I guess a fuse
would be the first thing to check, right? I hope its that simple.
Thanks again to everyone who helped me my car to this point. Needless to
say, I couldn't have done it without you.
See you at the June meeting.
-Mike
