Hello all,

Curt was nice enough to stay until we had the front of the drivetrain
installed and Daniel stayed a bit longer and helped hook up a few more
things. I had it all wrapped up and running down the road by 2.

She runs great....both problems fixed.

Will send some more detail to AJ for the newletter.

Thanks all,

Darrin

[NoVa-Corvairs] Darrin's Corvair

A. J.:

Don't remember exactly where we were with Darrin's engine when you left
but here is an update.

By the time I left at 12:30, we had the diff/trans separated from the
engine and the pressure plate, clutch disc and flywheel removed. What
Darrin found was that the bolted flywheel was rubbing on two of the
bottom bolts that hold the bell housing to the engine block. No he did
not have washers under these bolts. It appeared to us that whoever
bolted this flywheel together (it certainly wasn't Racer Al) used bolts
whose heads where too wide and thick. Darrin removed the two struck
bolts and ground the heads thinner. When I left we had the diff/trans
remated to the engine and the engine half way back into the car. Dan and
Darrin where still working on it when I left.

                                                                 Curt
