[NoVa-Corvairs] Early Model Door

I just want to see Ron's gullwing project. That'd be sweet!

Differential ... let's see. On Sunday I came out to Bethesda to assist Darrin with the removal of his Corvair's drivetrain, as the throwout bearing squealed like a flock of seagulls hovering about a landfill. However, since Darrin wanted to install a revived 140 in his Corvair, we had to remove pieces from the outgoing 110 (alternator, fuel pump, etc.) and fit them onto the replacenment engine. Darrin and I worked from two until eleven, and now I own his soul. It's also worth pointing out that the shrouds and valve covers on Darrin's 140 are bright yellow and now match his car.

Depending on Darrin's schedule, he and I will perform the removal of my Corvair's drivetrain at my condo complex -- perhaps this coming weekend, perhaps the following weekend. I can work alone to get my car to the point where only the transmission mounts / rear engine mount secure the drivetain. After that, a third -- and dare I say, a fourth -- set of hands would be nice for removal, differential replacement, and installation.

In other news, I may be fulfilling my diesel truck obsession. However, I'd first like to get my Corvair roadworthy before I bring home something new.

Please let me know if you can come out to lend a hand!

daniel
