[NoVa-Corvairs] Vair Fair and tech question

Cur and Ron -- we never firmed things up as far as a caravan is concerned. I'm planning to leave on Friday from my office in Leesburg, perhaps around midday. Let me know. Everyone else is welcome to join up.

I'm attempting to set a baseline so I can install an electronic ignition. I've begun by attempting to set the dwell. The shop manual calls for a 31-34 degree dwell and a .016" points gap (with used points). However, setting a .016" points gap results in a 24 degree dwell.

How much more should I reduce the points gap? *Should* I reduce the points gap? For whatever it's worth, my timing is at about 18 degrees (which is what the shop manual calls for on a 140).
