[NoVa-Corvairs] Saturday Meeting

Thanks Ron,
Actually, I used both. Started with solid core and C25 gas but ran out
of wire before I was done with the passenger side and went with the larger
flux core that I had on hand. Does not seem to be too much difference
except that the solid with gas approach is much cleaner. Hardest part
was getting that old metal clean enough to keep a good arc going.

Darrin, the floors look great! Are you using flux core or shield gas for
your welds?

Gents,
Since I am the host of the next meeting, I am putting a call out to help
me by hauling away some car parts from my place next month. I have a
full suspension (front and rear) for an early model....and Bryan is
interested in the front. I think it is from a 63', but will take a look
if anybody is interested in the rear. I have alot (alot) of various
other parts from numerous cars being parted out. These are the parts I
got from the guy who sold me the red car and I would like to get rid of as
much as possible. All cheap and will help load! Bring a truck.
Last message was meant to upset Daniel...sent to all you by mistake.
Daniel, we did get Ron's 64' running like a top...another early revival!
I finished welding the floors in Yellowcar this weekend and have pics up
at ---> http://corvaircenter.com/phorum/read.php?1,39065
Earlier post with big thick weld beads visible here -->
http://corvaircenter.com/phorum/read.php?1,37635 This thread also has
some very nice panel replacement (think big) pics from a couple other
guys. Puts my efforts to shame.
For the meeting we will finish the prep work on a replacement front
suspension that I have from a parts car and install it and if we have time
we will pull and cut the coils on the rear suspension and adjust the
Konis....that hardest setting is a bit....well....hard.
