I've got a question about our club's parts car, but first I should introduce
myself to those who have not met me. My name is John McMahon, and I joined
the NVCC about three years ago before I even bought my 1965 Monza coupe. I
live in Front Royal, so right from the start I didn't make all the meetings.
Then my son was born, and I made even fewer meetings. Then my daughter was
born eight months ago, and I haven't been to a single meeting in at least
that long (longer, I think). I am with you in spirit, though!

Anyway, my Monza turned out to be even more of a rustbucket than it appeared
to be when I bought it, and the great majority of the time I have spent on
it has involved cutting out the rust and welding in the good stuff. Right
now I'm faced with the task of replacing the trunk lid weatherstripping
channel, the one that is part of the left rear quarter panel. Does our
parts car have this piece intact? Have we acquired a new parts car since
the last time I was at a meeting? I *could* spend the time fashioning a new
piece, but it sure would save a lot of time if I could just weld in a piece
of another car.

So, I'll be spending a litte time in the garage tonight preparing for
tomorrow's welding adventure, namely replacing the piece to the rear of the
front left fender. Actually, I'll be repairing the structure underneath
first, so I'll have something to weld the outer piece to! :>)

Take care, and have fun with your own Corvairs!

John McMahon

P.S. Bryan, do you still need the ATV lift?
