[NoVa-Corvairs] Why did this happen?

Alternator is the one that was on the car when I purchased it.
I'll see if I can scrounge up a replacement alternator and see what happens. For whatever it's worth, I took today off and drove the Corvair all over the place -- the light still glows, but she starts right up.
