Mike:

I can bring an electrical meter which can measure such as ohms and
voltage.  I will also bring a timing light.  Since your car sat so long
it is possible that you have enough residual debris in the gas line that
the carb filters should be replaced.

Before the meeting make sure your battery is fully charged and disconnect
the positive battery cable (probably you have already done this).  Then
following up on Howard's suggestion we can start disconnecting electrical
systems such as the generator/voltage regulator and try to trace down
where the short is.
