Gents,
Just two comments on these issues:
1) Thanks Curtis for taking on Rallymaster duties....at least it is a
nice title!
2) I would hate to see us move the valve cover races inside except in the
case of bad weather. Just seems like it would be so nice to do it
outside on the patio on a warm even with pizza and cold beer. Do we need
the canopy if the weather is good? Maybe we go without a canopy and in
the case of bad weather use the inside option. Somebody would have to
make the call on Friday morning.
Oh, yeah, on the web site's "member's cars" section...I was supposed to do
that but have not gotten to it. Now that I have done the Vair Fair site
(with Bryan's help), I will start to do profiles of member's cars. Maybe
I will start with AJ's car as that is our next meeting. Will try to
remember to bring my camera.
I will also look to see what I can contribute to the door prizes. John
Sweet said he will donate something to the door prizes and has taken an ad
in the program and Lew Rischel is taking a small ad as well.

[NoVa-Corvairs] Vair Fair Update
All: Today's 3pm meeting has been cancelled. Only AJ & Curtis were
available, and I hated to see Curtis drive 3 hours round trip just to look
at the plaques. I will mail Curtis an example tomorrow. I did call
Curtis and we talked about various parts of the show in which I will
expand upon below:
1. Curtis & Al created the rally route this past Tuesday. They will run
it again this coming Tuesday for fine tuning. Al will not be available at
the show; however, Curtis has very graciously agreed to be the
Rallymaster.
2. Ron: Curtis confirmed that we rented the end room of the banquet room
all day on Saturday for the tech sessions. Can we also rent the room for
a few hours Friday evening to run the Valve Cover Races? It may be
cheaper than renting a canopy. Please call the hotel to check
availability and price. It may be cheaper than renting the canopy.
3. Everyone: Has anyone taken on the responsibility of canvassing local
businesses for give-aways for the raffle? I will check with my local Pep
Boys, NAPA, Advance, etc. Take a copy of the flyers with you and ask if
we can post them in their windows (or bulletin boards).
4. Everyone: Please also look through your current parts stashes and
general car care supplies to see if you have anything you can donate to
the raffle. I won a few brand new things at past Corvair Shows that I'm
willing to re-raffle (small floor jack, battery powered grease gun, etc.)
5. Greg & Bryan: I will go over to Bryan's about two weeks before the
Vair Fair to create the plaque templates on his laptop, so the only thing
I will have to do at the show is insert the winner's name and photo of
their car, print it, then assemble it into the frame. Curtis mentioned
that we would need approximately 30 frames. I will purchase a few extra
just to be on the safe side. I will be taking digital photos of
everyone's cars on Friday when they arrive at the hotel.
Thanks a million! Greg

please confirm that we still want to rent a canopy. I plan to reserve it
on Monday. I believe a 20X25 is $250.00 for the weekend.
