I think we would all like to have nice weather with beer, pizza and the
valve cover races outside.  The gamble is that "nice" part.  If the
weather is bad and we don't have the room or the canopy reserved then
shame on us.  So it really comes down to what do we reserve - the room or
the canopy?  If we are reserving the room for Saturday anyway what would
the cost be to throw in Friday night vs the cost of the canopy?

By the way Al Harris' calendar has been freed up somewhat and he can be
at the Saturday afternoon rally.  He is just not sure how long he can
stay.  We need but did not put on the schedule a Drivers Meeting one half
hour before the rally.  Unfortunately this would mean a meeting at 12:30
PM which would cut into peoples lunch.  why don't we leave the schedule
at 1 PM and hold the rally meeting there.  We can hold it in the tech
session room which is part of the banquet room.

The rally is coming along nicely.  Al, his wife Peggy, and I made a
second dry run this morning.  We have a draft of the rally instructions,
"in route" questions, and the general instructions.  When we finished
with the general instructions and operating details we will pass them
along for more eyes to review.
