All: 

In writing to Congressmen and Senators, I have found that their responses, if they respond, tell you exactly what you told them, that they are studying the issue, and are glad that you provided them your views. They also state that they would like to hear your concerns at any time. 

They never tell you that they will vote your way. Basically they send you a form letter tailored to your letter. They also tell you how hard they are working for you, but never seem to get anything you favor passed or anything you disagree with from passing. 

Basically you are wasting your time as an individual unless you agree with your legislator's position; however, if you are a member of an organized group that can generate a large volume of mail or email, they tend to listen.

Remember, we have the best legislators that money can buy!
