Northern Virginians,

I just finished installing a Crane XR-700 points replacement system on my Corsa.  You're completely insane if you still use points and drive your Corvair regularly (e.g., each day from your suburban Bethesda home to the World Bank and then back home again).  The improvement is that noticeable

Here's something.  Picture the three curved metal pieces that bolt into the bottom of the cylinder head and hold the exhaust manifold log in place.  Why would I get an oil leak there?  On one side they're covered in oily slime.  There are no leaks from the valve cover, and the pushrod tubes seem pretty dry.  I cranked down the nuts holding them on, but I don't see how that would recify the problem.

I still have to trace that vacuum leak.  Truly, it is my white whale.
