[NoVa-Corvairs] Vacuum leak?

"Little brass bit that slips over the hose"???  There's supposed to be a brass bit in addition to the brass nut that screws onto the crossover pipe?

I think you're on to something, slinky.

Perhaps my idle will be nigh perfect once I acquire said brass bit.  Where do I sign up?
