This is from the VirtualVairs list. Jim is the guy with the perfect blue
LM turbo coupe you may have seen at local shows.
I need to move to a farm.

There's an auction on Saturday, Jan 3, in Boonsboro, Maryland that
will include "approximately 15 Corvairs and 2 1957
Chevys." According to the action brochure, these are from the estate
of Nevin L. Johnson, Jr.
They appear to be all early models; the brochure lists them this way:
"(4) Corvair Convertibles, (3) Corvair Trucks, Corvair Vans, 2-Door
Hard Tops & 4-Door Sedans -- Approximately 15 Total."
I know nothing about this other than what the auction brochure says
although it does have photos of two cars and three
Rampside/Loadsides. I can't tell much about their condition, but
they don't seem to be wrecked and largely intact.
If you are interested, take a look at the web
site: http://www.cochranauctions.com/NYD.php
It's a bit confusing, but the fourth page of the contractors
equipment auction says that the Corvairs are to be auctioned on
Saturday. (Apparently there is another auction of Mr. Johnson's
tools and shop equipment on Monday.)
If you are interested, I'd recommend calling to confirm just when the
Corvairs are going up for bid.
Happy bargain hunting!
