Was determined to make it this year...lots of stuff to vend...took Friday
the 8th off from work. Turns out my wife's graduation from grad school
is on the 9th.

The Virginia Vair Fair is about one month away now, to be held May 8
- 10 in Fredericksburg, VA.
If you plan to come and have not sent your registration, please send
it soon. The registration form can be obtained at:

If you plan to spend the night at the host motel, PLEASE MAKE YOUR
RESERVATIONS SOON by calling the Holiday Inn-North, 540-371-5550.
Room rate is $85 and reference the Corvair Show when making
reservations.
A brief summary of Vair Fair events & activities are as follows:
Friday, May 8
2 pm: Registration & Vendors open
6 pm: Free BBQ party for registered attendees
8 pm: Valve Cover Races
Saturday, May 9
8 am: Registration & Vendors open
10 am - 12 noon: People's Choice Concours
2 pm: Rally
6 pm: Banquet
Sunday, May 10
8 am: Registration & Vendors open
9 am: Corvair games
11 am: Final door prizes & awards
For those that want to do some sightseeing on their own while in the
area, Fredericksburg and surrounding communities boast the following:
- Civil War battlefields & museums.
- Old Town Fredericksburg walking & trolley tours.
- Renown artist Gari Melchers gallery & restored 19th century home.
- Wineries.
- Rappahannock River Cruises.
- National US Marine Corp Museum (30 minutes away).
- George Washington's Mt Vernon home (less than 1 hour away).
- Washington, DC (about 1 hr away; public transportation to DC
nearby).
