[NoVa-Corvairs] Caravan to Harford County

Greetings!  First, a big thank you to Ron for planning the Christmas Party at the Silver Diner, and a thank you to the six of us who drove our Corvairs!  As discussed at the Christmas Party we will be making an impromptu "fact-finding mission" to Harford County Maryland this Sunday to look for and possibly purchase(!) some Corvairs and/or parts.  (MapQuest indicates 92 miles and @ 2 hours to get there!)  An older gentlemen is selling 6 Corvairs, 12 engines (I asked, no 140's...) 12 transaxles, and countless doors/hoods/parts from multiple Corvairs he has been parting out since 1960.  None of the Corvairs have been on the road in 15+ years; however, they have been stored in some type of shed/barn (i.e., they are now mouse condos!).  I just spoke with the owner, and barring any torrential weather, he is expecting us between 9:30 & 10 on Sunday morning, 12/20.  I will contact him again on Saturday to confirm.  There are two vehicles going.  My group is leaving from Alexandria at 8am.  Bryan is driving Ellie's pickup and myself, Al Birks, and Doug(?) are going with Bryan.  Ron is driving his pick up to pick up Darrin at Darrin's house.  So, if you were not at the meeting and want to chip in for gas/wear and tear for the drivers, please let us know beforehand and meet us at either my house or Darrin's Sunday morning.  It would be best to bring along flashlights, "Junkyard Primers," gloves, and not be afraid to get dirty.  Later...  Greg
