LS CORVAIR PARTS NEWSLETTER

MARCH 11, 2009

OVER 100 ENGINES FOR SALE!
WIN FREE CORVAIR STUFF!
LS EZ TECH TIP - CARB SYNC

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello again everybody,
I hope this has been a great week for each of you.  Spring is officially here, and
we've had a couple of terrific days out here on the West Coast - a bit windy but
 nice & warm.  Great Corvair-driving weather.
This week, I'd like to reassure those who've raised questions re:  their inclusion
on our newsletter e-group.  Please know that our e-list was compiled from a combination
of publicly-posted chapter communicators along with those already receiving the
many online chapter newsletters being forwarded across the country.  In other words,
we gathered what we felt would be a receptive and very targeted group of Corvair
 enthusiasts who would not only be interested in receiving fun Corvair info like
 our weekly Tech Tips, shop updates, and special offers, but would also share our
newsletter with their own chapter members for the same reasons.  Thus far, it seems
that our e-list has been well-received for the most part as only a handful of the
original list has elected to opt out.  That said, I do send my apologies to this
 latter group for any inconvenience caused on my part, as well as to anyone frustrated
by their inclusion on a redundant or group e-dress (those are being corrected asap).
 For sure, it's tough getting a list like this 100% correct the first time, but
I hope you know my intentions are sincere.  In this regard, please be reminded that
you can opt out of receiving future LS newsletters at any time by clicking the easy
"Safe Unsubscribe" button below.
Around the shop, things are going well, we're staying plenty busy, and I'm basically
having a ball with our new operation.  After a few years away from the business,
 it seems like our biggest challenges continue to be those of basic time and space
- time to inventory all the arriving Corvair parts and vehicles, time to finish
our parts cleaning and rebuilding area, and space to find room for everything until
it's all put away!  You know, when you think about it, these aren't exactly problems!
  You guessed it - it's only a matter of ......time!  :)
In the meantime, please keep us in mind when you have a Corvair question and for
 all your new, used, and NOS Corvair parts needs. Have a great week, and I look
forward to hearing from you.
Thanks, as always, for your support,
LS CORVAIR EZ TECH TIPS!
Here's this week's LS EZ Tech Tip...
"SYNC'ING YOUR CORVAIR CARBS"
With the exception of turbo engines, all standard Corvair engines use 2 single-barrel
primary carburetors (the 140 motors have 2 additional "secondary" carbs).  Having
these carbs properly balanced not only helps maintain top engine performance, but
also improves fuel efficiency.  Setting and keeping your Corvair carbs sync'ed is
fun and EZ - even for the novice Corvair enthusiast.  It's a one-person job using
an inexpensive UNI-SYN carb syncronizer tool.  The UNI-SYN is a simple vacuum-based
devise that you place over the top opening of each carb to measure the airflow,
then you simply adjust the idle screws on each carb til the UNI-SYN bubble location
is the same for both.  That's it!
Remember, working on your Corvair is not only fun and rewarding, but it's a lot
EZ'ier than you think.  YOU CAN DO IT!  If you have a specific question, call or
 email me anytime.  I'm always happy to help. - Larry
