[NoVa-Corvairs] Fw: NECC: Summit Point registrations Sunday 4/11/10

Hi all,

A little disappointing to see no other NoVa Corvair members on the list as
registered for Summit Point. You do not have to own a race car...just a
chance to get out on the track and try it out. Taste of the track is
cheap and lets you see what its like. Would be even better to see a
variety of Vairs on the time trials.

We should really try to support this event as we voted for it and if NECC
loses money they will not likely do it again back to back with the Vair
Fair. I will pull my son from school for the day to check it out.

I have never been on a real race track before and really looking forward
to it...but I plan on being SLOW. Trying to get some more Subaru's
registered to see what a fast one is like too.

I hope a few more will take advantage of the opportunity. would be cool
to see vans and wagons out there.

Darrin

Today, I will e-mail Maria at the track my proposal for us to run the
event with our limited registrations by turning over all the money we
will receive. She will open the track for one of their lapping days and
collect a fee form anyone that shows up. We will tech the cars, run the
event and offer timed laps to anyone that wants them. This arrangement
is very similar to what we did with BeaveRun last year.

Aditya Bhalla signed up over the weekend for the Taste. Everybody else
signed up for the time trials. Aside from Aditya Balla, we have
received no registrations since March 31.

Chuck Sadek asked me to copy his registrations from last year into this
year's form, and so I did. Similarly, Smitty Smith asked Brian O'Neill
to have me sign him up, plus his grandson Jim Lamacchia. You would not
have been aware of that. Those people account for the difference
between my headcount and yours.

Like you, I have seen emails suggesting that other people will register.
Examples include Terry Stafford and Dan Schmitt. But so far, they
haven't done so. Al Lacki

All

As of this morning, Sunday April 4, 2010 my tabulation shows:

1 Taste

17 Registered

4 Maybes (not registered, but say they will come)

5 of the registered entries are paid

If we decide not to run the event, we should cancel soon so people don't
get stuck with hotel costs.
