The 2010 Orphan Car Tour will take place on Saturday, June 5 in the area between Mt. Airy, Maryland and Hanover, Pennsylvania. We'd be grateful if you could mention this event to member of Northern Virginia Corvairs.

As soon as we've worked out all the details -- probably sometime in March -- we'll send you a flyer and a press release. Meanwhile, you can go to our website (see below) for updates.

We still have much planning to do, since each new OrphanTour moves to a different location in the Baltimore-Washington area, requiring a whole new set of considerations. We do know this much: as in previous Tours, participants will travel at their own speed over scenic, less-traveled roads; there'll be two or three stops at interest points along the way; the afternoon will end with an optional buffet-style dinner. As always, the Tour is a great opportunity for "orphan" car owners to get their family and friends out for an old-fashioned, leisurely afternoon drive in the country. (For our purposes, we define "orphan" as a vehicle that was manufactured by either a now-defunct manufacturer or by the discontinued division of a still-operating company.)

I've included a suggested calendar blurb below, which you can either use as-is, or edit. We'd be grateful for your help in spreading the word, and we're thankful for your assistance in past years!

Sincerely,
Jon Battle
