If you have a place the car can sit and your existing crossmember is good, you can rebuild just the control arms and replace them.  It's not that difficult, I just did lowers on the wagon.

The trick to the lower rear control arms is the bolt order, and using a jack to push the bracket into place.  That's the part you really need to replace the bushings in, so yes, they need to come out.

Key question is, which one would be more fun and what's your budget like?  If putting it together would be fun, go for it.  If you want it done right now at a reasonable cost so you can get on with driving, I'd take it to the Ranch.
