I am going to try to go as I met Mr Coburn numerous times over the years at Corvair events.  He was one of the nicesest people oon the planet.  He had great optimism about a project car and sometimes bit off more than he could chew.  He always wanted a good FC and Finially got this Greenbriar that didn't have millions of holes or was a total restore.  I got a set of  Rear 63 Sedan springs from him when I put a set in the rear of my 81 Dodge Aires Wagon.  Worked Great and I could carry my tools to work.  Handled well too!

 

Rich did save the good stuff and he had lots of interesting things in his Corvair "Hope Chest"  Make sure you google the Address up.  Used to be easy to find Him as he was right near the remains of the entrance to a FairyTale Park.  about 3 miles west of old Ellicot city.  Off old Rt 40 I believe.

 

He was a longtime member of the Baltimore Club.   I would get his van if it was a 64 and for the fact I still have a 61 GB 4spd I need to resurect.   -- Lee
