[NoVa-Corvairs] Weak starts

First thing to narrow down is if the voltage is ok (it probably is). However, to check I have seen some folks run a voltmeter in the lighter socket, that way you can see what's going on.

I noticed a similar issue in the wagon when it's warm out, now that it's cooled off it seems fine. I have a couple things to check, I thought I'd start with the positive cable to starter connection. You also might verify the timing is correct, that can make a hot engine harder to start.

It does not seem to vary with the accelerator. Last week as I went about running errands, the starts became more and more labored and I was concerned I would not get home. Once I got home I checked the battery and had a 12+ reading. It has started fine when I have checked it since. However I have not taken it out for fear of being stranded. Anybody have any ideas about what may be going on?
