Al:  To answer your question,w/o a return core the price is $105.55 which seems really high to me.
Clark's will give you $40 for an old unit that has a usable pulley.

I copied the NVCC list as I have to make a retraction.  The current Clark's idler arm bearing is not 75% bigger.  It is the same as the original.  I happen to have 5 of the units and I grabbed one to send back.  That one was different and smaller than the rest.  If memory serves me I got that bearing from Western Auto many, many years ago and had a mechanic friend take out the old and press in the new.  Why don't I just buy the bearing?  I do have a shop press and have pressed on new bearings but I don't have the right spacers and clamps to hold the old units down while pressing off the old bearing.  Something that I should work on.  Curt

Curt:  Did you send back your old arm for rebuild?  How much did you  pay for the new arm/bearing? Too bad Chevrolet didn't make this arm spring loaded like the ones on current engines.  Probably not sufficient room.

Members, if you have thought about getting a replacement idler bearing from Clark's w or w/o the pulley and/or arm now is a good time to do it.  I just got one and the bearing is 75% larger (longer).   The last time I got one from Clark's the bearing was the same size as the original but the shaft that presses into the aluminum arm was short and would only go half way into the arm.  I never used it as I was concern the downward force on the pulley might pull the shaft out of the arm.  The shaft on the pulley I just received is 3/8"longer than the original and protrudes out through the arm.  Little chance of it pulling out.  By the way Clark's is paying $40 for old arms with bearing and pulley.  Curt
