First, I want to thank you all for coming and helping with 2 major projects on my wife's '65 Monza Coupe. It was greatly appreciated! Darrin and Ron were put on top of the block oil leaks and blower bearing replacement, Doug and Mark replaced the main wiring harness from under the dash to the engine compartment, and Bob helped out by separating the transaxle and clutch pack from an engine which is scheduled to go into the Rampside. As your gracious host, I was relegated to parts/tool fetching, and the lowly job no one ever seems to want to do, PARTS CLEANING! We wrapped it up about 2:30.
After everyone left, I installed the engine compartment wiring harness; STILL NO BRAKE OR TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS in the back! Actually, the turn signals were not working at all so I switched in the flasher from the Rampside and got the fronts to work, but still nothing in the rear. The parking lights and license light in the rear DO work! The fuse is good. Today I'll try the brake light switch itself. Any other ideas from the brain trust?
Corvairs in attendance included Darrin's 12,000 mile '65 Monza coupe, Doug's '63 Monza convertible, Mark's Artesian Turquoise '65 Turbo coupe, and Stan's '64 Spyder convertible. Good luck to Stan and his future bride on their upcoming wedding! All the best, Stan!
Next month we will NOT have a regular tech meeting; however, we WILL meet at the AACA Fall Meet at the Manassas Museum. We had an excellent turnout last year with great weather, hopefully we will have more of the same again this year!
Ron has volunteered to host the October meeting at his home in Sterling. Thanks again! Greg
