[NoVa-Corvairs] Gas Gauge issues

Yes, it seems the dash gauge and wiring are working fine and the problem is
in the tank.
Drain the fuel as best you can and drop the tank. Open her up and take a
look.
I do not have a used FC sending unit to even look at. Being it reads
halfway, the resistance unit is probably rusted up.

Subject: Re: [NoVa-Corvairs] Next meeting
When The car is off the gauge reads full. When I turn on the ignition it
reads 1/2 full. Unplugging the connection it goes to full. Using the ground
wire suggestion it goes to empty. I was unable to shake the car enough to
get a good sloshing of gas in the tank because the car is on jacks. Does
this information help with diagnosing what I should have on hand?
Thanks
Trey

Read the resistance. Shake the car and see if the resistance changes with
the fuel sloshing. If no change, the tank is empty or the sender is bad.

When it is off, it reads full. When on it reads half full. With that in
mind I would like some suggestions as to what to have on hand to help fix
it so that I can get it before the meeting. Any suggestions would be
welcome.
