Tank refinishing would be a great tech session.  Clark's sells all the chemicals you need, but keep in mind that they have to be shipped by ground.  Also, buy new hardware (e.g., j-bolts) since inevitably they will snap.  Applying some POR-15 to the gas tank cutout would be
judicious as well.
