Hey NVCC Guys and Gals,

I get this Cruiser Broadcast forwarded to me thru my AACA group. While most of you are too far away to easily get to the Shady Grove and Olney ones, they are doing a tour on the day of our Christmas Party.

Thought is if anyone wanted to hook up with them at Whites Ferry you could do a bit of the Tour before the Party and also meet some more Va. based car guys while you waited.

For Fred, Rory., and Darrin - The Olney and Shady grove cruise ins are close for both of you. As is Bethesda Cars and Coffee. Different group of guys some antique, some rod, some new stuff.

This list is sort of Maryland based but some Va guys come to these things too.

Second: If you scroll down you will see a link to a u tube video showing how to free up lug nuts with cnadle wax and a lighter! Great emergency thing to do when stuck out on the road or if you have no torch or Kroil.

So after that video, U tube next brought up one by Davemotohead1, titled: Removing stuck bolts with wax.

Some of you folks may know this guy as in his garage is a Rampside and he shows a torch and wax method to remove Corvair exhaust studs!

While many of us have used heat, and heat sinking to remove, this idea of the wax is new to me. I believe it keeps the stud from refreezing to the log and also a lube like the Kroil or other. Anyway. If you are U tube users go directly to this one or watch the first one and then this.

Always worth putting in Stainless Studs, especially if you have a broken one anyway.

See you all on Sunday -- Lee Cramp

Detail Spray you say, I use it all the time, what could possibly be a problem? Tune in at the January meeting, to learn all about detail spray, some cardinal sins on improper detailing ( why using just any old rag, paper towel or napkin is a bad thing). Finally, let's discuss some basic detailing products that we all use regularly, what's good and what's better. (one hint: tire dressing).

Join us this coming Sunday December 11th for Milford H. Sprecher super Cruiser event, here is the literary Milford worked up:

The extended forecast calls for cloudy and cool, so it should be a decent day for the tour. I have planned a route that should be fun for most everyone.

We will leave between 9:30 - 10:00 AM from the Shady Grove Cruise-in site off of Shady Grove Rd in Rockville. The exact address is 6705 Crabbs Branch Road

Rockville, MD 20855. The meeting place is adjacent to the gas station as you enter the shopping center. Those in Virginia can meet us at the end of White?s Ferry Rd.

I have planned a route that should be fun for most everyone. I tried it out on Sunday and I liked it.

The route will be as follows:

Shady Grove Rd to Darnestown Rd. and turn right

Turn Left onto Travilah Rd.

Turn rt onto River Rd. Follow River Rd. to Mt. Nebo Rd.

Left on to W. Offut Rd to Edward's Ferry Rd.

Turn rt. onto Edward's Ferry Rd.

Continue on until you reach White's Ferry Rd and turn left to go to White's Ferry.

We will cross White's Ferry and go out to Rte. 15. Turn right to head north. At this point, Rte. 15 is a two lane road, so it should not be too bad for our cars. We will travel on Rte. 15 for 1.5 miles.

Turn left onto Montresor Rd, Rte. 661. After about 3 miles, the road turns to gravel for a short ways (I will identify and alternative route for those wishing to avoid the gravel).

Continue until we come to Rte 662, where we turn right.

In about a half a mile, turn left at the stop sign on to New Valley Church Rd.

In .6 miles turn right onto Taylorstown Rd. Continue on Taylorstown Rd. until it ends at Lovettsville Rd (Rte. 672) Turn right onto Lovettsville Rd.

Turn left and cross the river on the Rte 15 Bridge.

Across the river, turn rt. onto Rte 28. We can stop at the Point of Rocks railroad station in case anyone wants to take photographs of the cars and the train station, which is a local landmark. After the stop, we will continue on to the lunch spot at Aroma House.

The address is 1595 Bowis Dr. Point of Rocks, MD. It is in a strip all complex on the left. There is a gas station there, too. Aroma has pizza and sandwiches and enough seating for everyone.

After lunch we can continue out 28. There is an ice cream shop just outside of Point of Rocks on the right where we can stop if anyone is up for it. http://rockypointcreamery.com/

Rocky Point Creamery is now open Thursday thru Sunday, from 11:30 am to 7 pm. Fall is on it's way, the shadows are getting longer and the chilly evening are back ...

The route will continue on 28 back to Rockville, where we can go our own ways to get home.

*Virginians who join us can turn right onto Beallsville Rd (109) and go into Poolesville, turning right on Fisher Ave (107) which turns into White's Ferry Rd and will take you back to VA.
