[NoVa-Corvairs] Weekend autocross update

Hi folks,

I thought I'd follow up about Saturday's event that I mentioned previously.  For background, the CDC is a local club not affiliated with the SCCA.  No classes, they just have a simple performance index and everybody runs together, no particular order.  A local group of Cobalt/HHR folks basically used the event to have their own gathering, they set up a nice paddock area and had all their cars together and did their own trophies.  I got six runs, three in the morning and three in the afternoon, it worked out well as a convention tune up.

These guys run at a few different venues, this particular one is my favorite of the local lots - it's an independent league baseball stadium and the owner is very supportive, he took a few minutes to welcome us and had some special deals on tickets for anyone interested.

There's another event Oct 7 at the same place.  Given that next year's convention is in Pittsburgh, we could do our own club get together with them in the fall and invite the adjacent clubs if they're interested.  I think it could work out well for anyone going that wants to get a feel for the sport prior to the convention.
