[NoVa-Corvairs] Noob May Need a Good Used Head

Hi Dan,

The main thing to understand is that the heads varied based on several things - HP, turbo, a/c, AIR, etc. - for every year of production. Second, the head casting numbers should generally match side to side, the vacuum fittings and temp sender(s) can be moved from one side of the carb pad to the other to use a head on the other side (non-turbo applications only).

Given you have a '69 with the matching engine and the pass side is correct for the engine, it's pretty safe to assume the the driver's side is (or should be) the same number. Main thing to do now is pull the head, check the number, and decide if you want to reuse it. Even badly damaged heads can be fixed, if the seat is loose but not disintegrated it will probably cost less to go that route.
