Right, 110 HP smog engines used open chamber heads and pop up pistons to get the compression ratio correct.

If you bolt quench heads (regular 64-67 110 HP heads) onto smog engine with pop up pistons, there is an interference fit, i.e. no go!

140 HP engines never had open chamber heads or pop up pistons, 65 to 69 production.
