Hey D,
I realize you have been preparing for a long time. But you will always miss him. Great that you kept the Hartzler Corvair Bug alive!
Just give thanks to Richard once and a while. As with the day of the Dead. We are not truely dead until now one remembers us.
And I am glad i was able to meet him one of the times he visited you.
Interesting that I, Andria Raine (caroholic for life) , Jack Dempsey, And Marc Homlund were all at the 1977 Minnesota Convention that your Dad attended but I not sure whether I met him or not.
As you said he was on the other side of the State for most of the NCCA guys, even though back when i belonged in 74 their territory included the Dakotas!
Well, As long as you, your family , and Corvairs are still around he will be remembered.
Have a safe trip Back and enjoy the relatives and visiting the 61.

Hi all,
I am in Minnesota for my Dad’s funeral and got ahold of some pics of him and his Corvairs. This one is of his new 1963 Monza when he was 23 years old. Later he had a 65 Corsa turbo vert…which he drove, polished and showed for over 25 years.
For those of you on CorvairCenter.com…. http://corvaircenter.com/phorum/read.php?1,950480<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fcorvaircenter.com%2Fphorum%2Fread.php%3F1%2C950480&data=02%7C01%7Calcramp%40msn.com%7Cbce097fd09944a013ed008d52dffdd44%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636465499376698597&sdata=VY2xyOqU3NTeTzupAK1AtKzFIL0c7lMg%2BX1SzGa2lB4%3D&reserved=0>
On his last visit to Maryland a few years ago, when he could barely walk from ALS, he drove my 65 Monza PG with great joy. That was his last time behind the wheel of a Corvair and it was like a time machine. May he rest in peace.
Best,
Darrin
